I am a clinical psychologist with a private practice in San Carlos, California with a background in psychotherapy focusing on health, wellness and personal growth. I work with children, adults, couples, and families, and have experience helping people with a wide variety of issues including life transitions, chronic medical conditions, stress and significant loss.

Education

I have been fortunate to study in many settings in Europe and the United States which offered the opportunity to understand psychology from many cultural perspectives. I earned my doctorate in psychology from Alliant International University — California School of Professional Psychology and I completed my clinical internship through San Mateo Medical Center where I provided psychological services to adults of all ages in both in and outpatient settings.

Training

I completed my pre and post-doctoral training at San Mateo Medical Center focusing on Behavioral Medicine and Health Psychology. My clinical training emphasized on working with adults who struggled with relationship difficulties, older adults coping with medical conditions, parents juggling multiple roles and life changes. My work with children and young adults focused on life transitions and trauma.

I continued to work within San Mateo Medical Center as a clinical psychologist in the medical psychiatry service until January 2017. There I provided psychotherapy to adults of all ages specializing in health, wellness and personal growth utilizing empirically based treatment modalities such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), and insight oriented therapy such as Psycho-dynamic psychotherapy. I developed various psychology programs within the hospital and have a deep commitment to education. Furthermore, I served as Director of Training and Assistant Director of Training for the internship program and supervised Doctoral Level trainees.
